Darke Gallery, an exciting new art space in the heart of Rice Military, is housed in a free-standing steel clad structure originally built as a residence by architect Laurie Westrick. The two-story gallery and courtyard are superlative spaces for experiencing contemporary art. The main gallery features 20 foot ceilings, recycled maple gymnasium floors and a balcony. The light-filled lower level gallery opens onto a sculpture courtyard.
Darke Gallery will exhibit contemporary art of the finest quality, representing over twenty local artists working in all media.
